My most recent favourite reads are:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanwords.org.uk\/sarah\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/mrs-h1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-409\" src=\"http:\/\/www.urbanwords.org.uk\/sarah\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/mrs-h1.jpg\" alt=\"mrs h\" width=\"93\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Skippy Dies<\/em> by Paul Murray &#8211; funny, clever, moving, poignant, this is the kind of book you can get happily lost in for hours.<\/li>\n<li><em>The Night Watch<\/em> by Sarah Waters &#8211; a brilliant evocation of post-war Britain.<\/li>\n<li><em>Mrs He<\/em><em>mmingway<\/em> by Naomi Woods &#8211; Exquisitely written, this book wears its craft with lightness and grace, deftly evoking history and character and plunging us straight into the heart of each woman\u2019s story.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some other, long-standing favourites are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Novels<\/strong><br \/>\nI love pretty much anything by Margaret Atwood, Carol Shields, Ann Tyler, Barbara Trapido, and Isabel Allende.
