I met with a range of academics working on Devo Manc, as well as other residents and campaigners in Manchester. I asked each of them: <em>If Devo Manc was an animal, what would it be? <\/em>Their answers inspired three stories: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OgTGZrde_VI&amp;feature=youtu.be\">The Mini-Pig<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0UdRN4n8r9w\">The Giraffe<\/a> and The Whale (released next week).<\/p>\n<p>This work was commissioned by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mui.manchester.ac.uk\/\">Manchester Urban Institute<\/a> and funded by The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Impact Acceleration Account.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manchester Urban Institute\u2019s Devo Manc hub commissioned me to write three short stories to mark the first 100 days of Greater Manchester&#8217;s first mayoral term.
