Walking The Edge, Didsbury Arts Festival 22-28 June 2015

I am thrilled to have been awarded a commission by Didsbury Arts Festival.

mapEvery day, 22-26 June, I will be walking the outer ward boundary of (East and West) Didsbury, uploading a new short piece of writing to the festival website at the end of each day. Following road and river, I will stick as close to the mapped boundary as possible and consider the relationship between the line on the map and the physical lived experience of the place. I will invite a range of people to join me along the way and there will be two walks open to all.

Keep an eye on the Festival website for walk details and new writing.

The project is led by GUILD and is the first of four projects which will make up the Social Housing Arts Network.

Where the Heart is Exhibition – Beyond art therapy: encounters between artists and people in the care system.

11where the heart is location LOW RESFrom April to December 2013 I had the privilege of being writer-in-residence at Withy Trees Day Centre and CSV Learning North West, as part of the artist residency programme, Where The Heart Is. The residency looked to explore ideas of home and care in two very different settings: a day centre used by people living with dementia, and an alternative education provider for 14-24 year olds.
